The automotive isolation amplifier uses Σ-Δ architecture where the differential analog input is converted into digital pulses to be transmitted optically across the insulation barrier. The isolation amplifier allows designers to sense current/voltage in extremely moisy environments while maintaining excellent gain and offset accuracy.
