Reflective Optical Encoder Technology for Miniaturization

Demands for miniature motors are increasing at the same time as electronic components shrink in size. Over the years, development in reflective optical encoders has enabled accurate position and velocity feedback while the device size is greatly reduced. There is increasing flexibility in the finest resolution that can be obtained from the encoders as external electronics are combined with the encoder to achieve multiple times of the base resolution. The miniature size reflective optical encoders are well suited for feedback of miniature motors, which in turn are used for many devices that require a compact size.
